Graciela Ibáñez

I am Graciela Ibáñez, a Chilean-Italian journalist covering the politics, economics and cultures of Latin America. I live in Valparaíso and Santiago de Chile, from where I travel throughout the region.

My work in English has been featured in TRT World, Americas Quarterly, Religion Unplugged, The Art Newspaper, The Wall Street Journal, REDD Intelligence, Debtwire and the Associated Press. I have also written stories in Spanish for La Segunda and El Mercurio de Valparaíso, two newspapers from the El Mercurio group, and for CARAS magazine in Chile.

I have given analysis and comment for BBC Radio and CBC.

I launched La patria de los soñadores in 2022, a podcast in Spanish focused on the history of Valparaíso, once the economic engine of Chile.

I teach business and economic journalism at Universidad Gabriela Mistral in Santiago and Universidad Viña del Mar in the Valparaíso region.

I provide translation and fixing services for reporters, editors and producers traveling to Chile.
